Staff Code of Conduct for 1st Touch Football Kickz

At 1st Touch Football Kickz, we hold ourselves to the highest standards to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of every child in our football sessions. This Staff Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all coaches, staff, and volunteers, emphasising professionalism, inclusivity, and respect in every interaction.

1. Professionalism

– Always arrive on time, prepared, and dressed appropriately in the 1st Touch Football Kickz uniform or designated attire.
– Maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude throughout the session, inspiring confidence and enjoyment in the players.
– Follow the session plan and adapt activities as needed while maintaining the program’s objectives.
– Avoid any behaviour or language that may be deemed inappropriate or unprofessional.

2. Safety and Child Welfare

– Prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
– Ensure a safe environment by inspecting equipment and facilities before every session.
– Follow the safeguarding policy and report any incidents, concerns, or injuries to the designated safeguarding officer immediately.
– Never leave a child unsupervised and ensure appropriate supervision ratios are maintained.
– Avoid physical contact with children unless necessary for their safety or part of a coaching demonstration—and ensure it is always appropriate, visible, and explained.

3. Respect and Inclusivity

– Treat all children, parents, and fellow staff members with respect, valuing diversity and inclusivity.
– Create an environment where children of all abilities feel welcome, supported, and valued.
– Refrain from showing favoritism or singling out individuals for criticism or exclusion.
– Address inappropriate behaviour among participants in a constructive and respectful manner, emphasizing learning and growth.

4. Communication

– Use clear, positive, and age-appropriate language when addressing children.
– Provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement while celebrating effort and participation.
– Maintain professional communication with parents, keeping them informed about sessions and their child’s progress.
– Refrain from discussing confidential matters in public or with unauthorised individuals.

5. Behaviour and Conduct

– Act as a role model, displaying fairness, patience, and good sportsmanship in all situations.
– Uphold the rules and values of the game, teaching children the importance of respect for coaches, teammates, referees, and opponents.
– Never use or tolerate inappropriate language, bullying, or discrimination in any form.
– Address conflicts calmly and respectfully, seeking resolution in line with the organisation’s policies.

6. Confidentiality

– Handle all personal and sensitive information about children and families with the utmost confidentiality, in accordance with data protection regulations.
– Avoid sharing photos, videos, or identifying information of participants without explicit parental consent.

7. Accountability

– Take responsibility for your actions and decisions during sessions, being open to feedback from colleagues and management.
– Proactively participate in regular training and professional development to enhance your coaching skills.
– Be honest and transparent in your communication with management and parents.

8. Social Media and Representation

– Use social media responsibly, ensuring that any posts related to 1st Touch Football Kickz align with the organization’s values and guidelines.
– Avoid sharing inappropriate or unapproved content involving children, sessions, or the organization.
– Represent 1st Touch Football Kickz positively at all times, both on and off the pitch.

9. Discipline

– If a staff member breaches this Code of Conduct, disciplinary action may be taken in accordance with the organization’s policies.
– Repeated or serious breaches may result in suspension or termination of employment.
